As an Eastern state resident I strongly object to the proposed phase-in timeline that requires me to wait until Sept. 1, 2005 to obtain the free credit reports that others will be able to receive beginning 1 Dec. '04. Seven and a half months from now should be enough time for the credit reporting industry to develop a system for handling all consumer's requests, not just those from Western states.
