I think that advertising food to children 2-11 years old should be minimal, or even completely forbidden. They're so easily swayed by animated magic and bright colors, and before the age of 7, they aren't ready to make choices based on nutrition. Between 7-11, they may know what's healthy, but what's "cool" is much more important to them. If you're going to allow advertising, how about limiting it to foods with no added sugars, colors, or added flavorings, and with less than (some healthy cutoff you define) of sodium and fat?
