I support the Interagency Working Group's Proposed Nutrition Principles to Guide Industry Self Regulation. As a pediatrician working with low income children, I have seen little evidence that the self regulation of the food industry has reduced consumption of foods of low nutritional value. Parents are very vulnerable to this marketing. I support the efforts to clarify the definition of healthy foods and limit marketing, especially to young children. Obesity rates in our community would undoubtedly improve if parents really knew what was healthy for their children. Thank you.
