Have you ever tried to get your "free" credit report online? If you have, you've probably been frustrated by the following: 1) using the official government required site, you are bombarded with sales offers to sign up for ALL MANNER of products before you can request your credit report. 2) going to a site that you THOUGHT was the official site...only to find out it's NOT the official site. And again, you have to subscribe to some sort of service to get your 'free' report. The FTC has proposed new rules to address these items. They are proposing more disclaimers, and requiring websites like "freecreditreport.com" to offer a link to the OFFICIAL site. And banning all advertising until AFTER you make your request for your free report. This one is a winner !!!
