Comments:I have had to be very careful when requesting my own credit reports that I use the truly free site at AnnualCreditReport.com rather than the one that seems to be the obvious one to choose: FreeCreditReport.com. I have warned my children and friends about the difficulty in discerning which one is the official site plus the added problem of being uncertain about how to proceed once ihave chosen the official site. Please set up regulations so it is clear which site is the one for consumers to use if they are seeking the official (non-commercial) site and then how to get the credit report without having to navigate through pages of ads for other services. It should be made clear, especially for people who may have little financial management savvy or who are checking their scores or records for the first time.
