When I last tried to get the free credit report, I didn't know it was a private commercial enterprise, trying to get money out of me. First they charged me for the report, so I agreed since it was about $15. Then I discovered they were sending me this report once a month for $15 each month. I really blew up at them and got it cancelled, threatening to dispute this with my credit card company.
