I got my free credit report this week (along with my husband)and my suggestion would be: Remove all the ads and offers until after the free report is shown to the customer. I clicked on at least 1 link and then realized it I was no longer on the correct site. In my opinion 95% of the people using this site want only their free report - not their credit scores and certainly not the extras being sold.
