When I called Experian requesting my free credit report. I was told I had to accept a service they provided for about $25.00 a month. They would then check my credit report for me every month. I told them that I did not need that and was told that before I could get my free report, I had to sign up with them for their services. If I did not want the service, I could cancel with-in about 7-14 days and I would then get my report. The report that I received had my credit reference from 2 other companies in addition to Experian. This was an extremely unpleasant experience. I felt helpless because I did not know what to do or to contact about this problem.
