Comments:I have tried repeatedly to obtain my "Free" Credit Report via Creditreport.com and on every occasion they request a credit card number for the 7 day free trail report. I do not want to give nor do I recommend any person giving their credit card number to an unknown organization. I have been in the Credit Card and Credit reporting business for over 35 years and I can relate many horror stories regarding stolen identity with this information. The Internet web sites do not truly reflect the "free" Credit report that is due each person annually. It is very difficult to check ones credit statis through the Internet. The FTC should make it easier and clearer for the person seeking his or her own credit information via the Internet by illiminating all those trail Credit Reporting programs when seeking ones credit information. It is confusing and disturbing to the credit information seeking person.
