Earlier this year, I went to the FTC website to get my free credit report and I was redirected to freecreditreport.com, without my realizing it. I only found out when I received my VISA bill with charges for their monitoring services, which I did not want. I spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get the charges refunded, which they refused to do. This was a painful learning experience and I hope that other people can avoid being deceived the way I was.
