To the FTC: I support your proposal to require a separate landing page on sites which advertise free reports which explains that the reports are NOT the free reports guaranteed by the federal government. I also support your proposal to delay advertising for other credit products until after consumers obtain their free annual credit reports. I am asking you to keep the proposal strong, so that it would help consumers. The "FreeCreditReport.com" ads, while entertaining, are deliberately false. What I like about the new proposal is that ads such as the ones for FreeCreditReport.com, will have to acknowledge that people should go to AnnualCreditReport.com, because it is the only website that would allow people to get a free credit report. I look forward to your response; thank you for your time. John Viacrucis Moorhead, Minnesota
