|Agency:||Federal Trade Commission|
|Rule:||Proposed Amendments to the Fuel Rating Rule; FTC File No. R811005|
Comments:a. The FTC's proposed labeling for Alternative Fuels containing ethanol, "MAY HARM SOME VEHICLES," is misrepresentation of the fuel, and discourages the use of the fuel, which is the exact opposite of the intended purpose of the American Energy Independence and Security Act. We need to better support our home grown fuel which creates energy independence, creates dometic jobs, keeps billions from going over seas. Labeling anything orange/black in color signals a warning and if anything we should be doing the opposite with a label green in color and with the higher octane levels which proves it to be an enhanced fuel many pay a premium for. We need to support ethanol, not discourage its use in any shape or form.
