Fur Rules Review, Matter No. P074201 Comments on the revised Fur Products Name Guide (under VIII, 2. Revise § 301.0 to read as follows:). Page 42, Antelope: Replace Ungulata with Artiodactyla (name of Order). Page 43, Fox, Grey [correct spelling is Gray]: I question including Urocyon littoralis because this Island Fox has a limited distribution (Channel Islands off California) and is treated as rare and endangered by the state of California—none can enter the legal fur trade. Page 44, Jaguarundi: The correct scientific name is Herpailurus yagouaroundi. Page 44, Marten, American: The correct scientific name for Martes caurina is Martes americana caurina. Page 45, Peschanik: The fur of this animal is called Peschaniki; the common name is Suslik or Souslik; the correct scientific name for Citellus fulvus is Spermophilus fulvus. Page 46, Susilk [correct spelling is Suslik]: The common name for these Ground Squirrels is Suslik or Souslik; the correct scientific name for Citellus citellus is Spermophilus citellus; the correct scientific name for Citellus rufescens is Spermophilus major rufescens; the correct scientific name for Citellus suslica is Spermophilus suslicus.
