I was against legislation to computerize medical records from the very beginning and wrote to all the representatives in my area to vote against it for the very reason the information is not secure. It is only right that the person be notified immediately if there is a breach. I for one, plan on looking into suing any medical facility that allows my private medical information to be breached or used by anyone other than my personal physician and health team.
