Comments:At the age of 24 I was diagnosed with stage III melanoma. I have a six inch scar on my face, and several more scars on my neck and over the entire portion of the rest of my body from the countless biopsies taken after the initial diagnosis. I was tanning because I was told that if I followed all of their rules and guidelines, I would be safe. I did not burn in a tanning bed. I was using the tanning bed like I should be. I was going for short periods and slowly increasing my time, I wore the goggles. Everything I was told to do to keep myself safe I did, and yet somehow they want me to believe that I am just one in a million. Unfortunately, after years of being a volunteer and talking to the kids about tanning, I am hearing all the horror stories of women especially in their 20's going through the same kind of experience I did, all because of tanning. The lies that they are portraying are more than just false advertisement, it is now coming down to life and death. How these people are sleeping at night with the knowledge that they may or may not be killing our youth, but they are certainly disfiguring them, is beyond me. Please stop them immediately.
