We are a manufacturer of platinum bridal jewelry. We have seen platinum become more and more unaffordable to the average consumer and would like to be able to sell 585 platinum which is composed of 585 parts platinum and other alloys. This will allow us to sell a product that is 1/2 the price of platinum and give the consumer the choice of whether they want pure platinum or 585 platinum. This is a similar situation to 14kt gold. There are many variations of gold, it is up to the manufacturer and the retailers to make sure that our products are marked correctly so the consumer knows what they are buying.
