Comments:
Under no circumstances should jewelery containing platinum/base metal be allowed to use the term platinum. The proposed guidelines are unworkable for the industry in terms of actual implementation but, most importantly, are confusing to the consumer. The proposal is in conflict with international standards and would result in import/export problems. If the FTC must do something, consider a completely different name for jewelry composed of platinum/base metals.
