Comments:In the past, Presidents Roosevelt, Truman and Johnson were not timid to "jawbone" with some large corporations and labor unions to help the American economy. In a 1999 debate, the current President Bush accused President Clinton of not jawboning OPEC members to lower oil prices then. I don't know if Bush would have much success jawboning OPEC now but he should try. But mainly, he must call in the executives of the large oil companies who are making billions and billions in profits in the current crisis and make them lower their prices.
