|Agency:||Federal Trade Commission|
|Rule:||Mortgage Assistance Relief Services - Proposed Rulemaking; Rule|
Comments:The FTC should not allow any person(s) or companies to profit on the current housing crisis with out ensuring that such parties can truly offer help in the form of a loan modification or short sale. This should include the lenders/banks themselves. It is time to do the right thing in this country and make all parties accountable. While I understand that there are an incredible amount of homeowners that are now behind on paying their mortgage and that some of these same people should have never been offered a mortgage to begin with, it was the greed of Wall Street that enabled these consumers the opportunity to own a home. In the interim these same Wall Street leaders have been bailed out with taxpayer’s money while their bad financial decisions had led to a collapse of our economy which in turn has led to millions of lost jobs. It is now time for the banks and Wall Street to help minimize further damage by modifying loans for those that qualify and can meet their new mortgage payments. The consumer shouldn't be obligated to pay any fees until a satisfactory solution to their current situation is presented to them. Then the fees should be regulated ensure there isn't over exuberant profiteering.
