Written prescriptions are available currently to anyone who requests one at no cost. Most medications dispensed by veterinarians are not available in dosages needed thru conventional human pharmacies due to species and weight variation. Contact lenses (thru optometrists) are about one species(human)and numerical measurements which are universal and easy to duplicate. Please do not try to equate this with multiple species variation and hundreds of drugs veterinarians specialize in. This is an example of an unfunded mandate placed on the private practitioner which serves no purpose and will only cause confusion at the pharmacy and health risks for our patients.
