I believe that the vast majority of my clients already know they can fill a prescription elsewhere if they choose so new rules would be redundant. In Illinois we are required to write a prescription if the client requests this, so what benefit is there to informing them again? Aren't there enough burdens placed on business as it is, particularly small businesses which have limited resources to comply with additional and unnecessary governmental requirements? Isn't this proposed legislation really backed by large corporations such as Walgreens, Walmart, Pet Meds etc. getting laws in place that favor THEM over small businesses like veterinary hospitals? Really now is this about consumer rights or about laws that favor big box stores over the little guy once again?
