We wanted to express our approval of the agreement reached between the FTC and Phusion Projects concerning flavored malt beverages, such as Four Loko. It is clear that Phusion and the FTC understand the importance of informing consumers and have reached a fair agreement. We believe that Phusion Projects has shown a high level of responsibility in agreeing to develop a new, resealable can for its current Four Loko products and providing additional labeling that compares Four Loko to regular beers. Phusion’s actions go above and beyond industry standards and they will be industry leaders with this new label and resealable can. As a distributor, we’ve always known that the answer to curbing underage drinking and alcohol abuse lies in increased education, stronger enforcement of existing laws, and personal responsibility. That’s why we applaud both Phusion’s and the FTC’s commitment to promoting the responsible consumption flavored malt beverages through this agreement.
