I urge you to adopt the new rule. As a consumer I am inundated with daily mailings offering credit cards which I do not want. In the past I felt comfortable with just throwing them in the trash, but with today's identity theft I am afraid to do that. Since the credit companies place your name and address on different areas of the applications I have to go through each one of them to locate my personal information and then tear that part out for shredding before tossing the remainder in the trash. I don't have a large shredder at home to accomodate shredding the entire mailings at once! It is quite aggravating to have to continuously do this. I would be grateful to have a phone number that I could contact to discontinue the mailings. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
