I heartily diagree with the forced sale by Tops Markets of the Rochester Rd, Lockport, NY Quality Markets. There has been a grocery store at this location since the early 1960's. It has been utilized and appreciated by the people of this area for 50 years because of it's easy accessability and not a major traffic area. As time has passed many older people now have shopped here since the beginning because it has not become a super center and is so easy to access. There are no major highways or traffic jams for them to be concerned with or huge plazas to fight for a parking space. The pharmacy in this store is beyond excellent and the pharmacists always have the time to help with any problem customers may have. I personally am aware of my Doctor trusting this pharmacy by requesting their assistance in solving a medical problem. Remember it is probably older people that have the most precscription needs and also may need the most help and assistance with the medicine prescribed. Now you are asking us to accept your decision of unfair or deceptive acts or practices of unfair competition because you think competition is non-existant and this would lead to higher prices for consumers. This is what is unfair! Tops Market has been supplying this store for several months now and I have not seen a price increase. Matter of fact, many prices have reduced and there is more of a variety of items. You have not looked at the whole picture or you would see a different scenario. Had you taken the time to poll the people of this area, you would find that they want the Quality Market to remain as a Tops to be assured of this store staying open. It is inmpossible to sit in a chair many miles away and properly access a situation such as this. Many local farmers proved produce to this store in season. As far as competition is concered there are Aldi stores and Budwey Markets within traveling distance should a person chose to do so. I cannot strongly enough state that this store and pharmacy is necessary and wanted by the people of this area. If you continue to force the sale of this Quality Market by Tops Market, it will more than likely end up with the closing of this store. Now, how have you helped the people of this area! You have made them make major changes is their life, such as a new pharmacy and forcing them to travel a further distance for their prescriptions and everyday needs. This can be very difficult for older people to do and can be a major concern to them. Those that want to travel to the further distances to the super stores and other markets are doing so right now. We, that do not chose to do this, do not want your help in forcing us into this situation. Please reconsider this decision and allow this Quality Market to stay open under the Tops management. REMEMEBER AS INTELLIGENT PEOPLE WE DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO PROTEST HIGHER PRICES SHOULD THEY INCUR BY EITHER TELLING MANAGEMENT OR GOING ELSEWHERE. WE DO NOT NEED ANY GOVERNMENT INTERFENCE TELLING US WHAT IS UNFAIR OR FAIR. WE ARE FULLY CAPABLE OF FIGURING THIS OUT OURSELVES AND DOING WHAT WE FEEL IS NECESSARY TO CHANGE IT. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE RECONSIDER AND ALLOW THIS PHARMACY AND MARKET TO STAY OPEN. DO NOT FORCE THE SALE OF AND INEVITABLE CLOSING OF THIS STORE.
