I do not want to lose the Quality/Tops store on Rochester Road, Lockport, NY. Even though there are three Tops stores located in close proximity, the location and convenience for so many residents to this rural area should be considered as people already travel so many miles to get to this location, closing it would be causing more hardship and inconvenience. Also the loss of 70 jobs is another big issue. 70 more employees put into the job market where there are not enough jobs to place them in. I realize the purpose of the ruling but there are so many other things to think of instead of just the possibility of Tops raising their prices due to noncompetition. How can we be sure that another company would be interested in buying that store with Tops already in two close locations and with Walmart planning on opening a Superstore in Lockport where they will compete with Tops, why would any other company want this location? It seems to me the chances of another company wanting to take it over is slim at best. Leaving Tops there is the best choice we have at this time and I hope that the ruling can be reevaluated and our store will remain open. The other issue is the pharmacy that so many of us depend on. The loss of any store in that location would be detrimental to this community and if closing Tops put this grocery store/pharmacy and 70 jobs in jeporady I don't think it is worth. I hope that this issue can be reevaluated and the store can remain as is at this time not just for myself but for the many others who use this store. It is so important to so many people.
