I wanted to give public comment as I strongly oppose the FTC's proposed rules that will allow loopholes to the Federal Do Not Call list. Particularly, the proposal to allow computer generated or "robo-calls" to families where there is an "established business relationship" is troubling. Computer generatedd telephone calls are both disruptive and harassing to our family life. My wife and I were overjoyed when we were able to register on the National Do Not Call list and will be very dissapointed if these proposed rules serve to disrupt our life, as telemarketing did in the days before the Do Not Call list. Of particular concern is the loose definition of "established business relationship." I do not share the same definition as is apparently shared by those who would craft such a description. It's one thing to have folks with whom I've actually conducted business and asked to be kept in the look for a product or service call, it's another entirely to have folks call en mass to sell us things we do not need. Please - in general, citizens are not interested in anything less that more stringent do not call rules. We do not want you to loosen them, regardless of what the pro-industry lobby tells you. Sincerely, M. Khalil Islam-Zwart
