By joining the 'do-not-call' registry I make it clear to everyone that by default they do not have my permission to call me. Just because I bought something from someone or inquired about a product or service from them does not mean I give them permission to call me. If they want to call me they need to gain my explicit permission. This can be as simple as asking me for my permission or having me mark a check box. But unless I explicity say "Yes, you may call me" the answer is "No you may not". That's why I signed up for the do-not-call registry in the first place.
