Comments:
I oppose the proposed rule changes. The expected results of the original rule were to eliminate unwanted telemarketing calls. The propose rule change will dilute the rule and allow a huge loophole for telemarketers to exploit. I'm am frustrated by the number of calls I still receive from businesses I have a relationship with, most notably my telephone company seeking to get me to purchase additional services. I am concerned that the propose rule change will allow other companies to do the same by establishing a relationship with me through business that I might have done with a subsidiary or third party business. The proposed rule change will only benefit the telemarketing industry to the detriment of the public. The original rules were established to protect the public from unsolicited calls. Lets keep our focus on consumer protection, not business empowerment.
