I oppose the proposed safe harbor for telemarketeers for the following reasons: 1. I do NOT want to be called by anyone for any reason. If I need any services or products from anyone I have a business relationship with, I am fully capable of contacting them!! 2. My answering machine has a limited amount of storage and I do not want to waste that on telemarketeers and risk missing an important message. 3. I have seen on the internet that a company saying that I have "a business relationship" with them is greatly overused and is in most cases totally wrong. Without severe and prompt penalities for abuse, we will again be swamped with unwanted phone calls. 4. The vast amounts of people signing up for no-call lists sends, to me, a persuave message that most people do not want to be bothered by phone calls. 5. Some dialers lock up the phone for several minutes thus preventing emergency calls from going out if needed. Further, today, I have a significant percentage of calls that ring and when answered have no one on the line. This interrupts my activities and concentration. I oppose anything that will make this worse. I'd like to see the 3% call abandonment reduced to 0.5%. Thank you
