Although I am a member of the "Do Not Call" registry, I still receive numerous calls from politicians, charity organizations, and various "new businesses" starting up. Even so, I have thoroughly enjoyed not being tormented all day (and night) by telemarketers. It's apparent that this new proposed ruling that is desired by the Voice Mail Broadcasting Company is "all about money." The public is not stupid. The people have enjoyed the peace and quiet without telemarketers and have no desire to put up with that aggravation again. If the reins are looseded on these junk callers, the FTC will see an outrage of the American public as never before. The consumer has a right to privacy, and any call I get that is unsolicited, is an invasion of my privacy. Should this new proposal by the Voice Mail Broadcasting Company succeed, I shall have my home-based phone disconnected, and rely on my cell phone exclusively!! Please, FTC, don't do this to us!! Very truly yours, Darlene M. Tearney
