Comments:
I am opposed to allowing telemarketing calls to consumers that consist of a pre-recorded message unless a customer actively opts in to give permission to receive such calls. Allowing pre-recorded telemarketing messages, particularly to households that have already signed up for the Do-Not-Call list, places undue burden on the consumer to protect their household peace. I have already been extremely inconvenienced by having to listen to an entire pre-recorded message before being allowed to opt out of a pitch, and I think all efforts should be made to respect the wishes of consumers to not be bothered in their homes.
