No, No, No. We don't want any telemarketing calls, ever, but even more so, we don't want recordings, that can't be hung up on, and fill our answering machines with junk messages. At the very least, any change in this law, must include an opt-in only provision. There may be people who are so lonely and stupid, that they appreciate being bombarded with scams, but I seriously doubt there will be very many of them. I think the great success of the " DO NOT CALL " program, pretty much, says it all ! ! ! The people do NOT want to be bothered at home, by con artists, and scammers, or for that matter, even legitimate dealers. Let them create an opt-in, for people, that includes the telemarketing groups, paying for their phone service, and paying them a fee, when the incoming calls exceed a set amount. That seems fair to me, since I pay for the use of my phone, for me, not for them. DO NOT create a new problem, that is actually more annoying than the previous one, and is cheaper for the telemarketers. I must have answered 30 calls in the last month, and heard only dead air, since the auto-dialer makes more calls than the available humans to handle them, so they just keep calling back, over and over again. By the time I finally get a human, I am so enraged, I can't even put in print what I would like to do to them. DO NOT CALL, means just that. I don't want loopholes, and games. I want to NOT be called ! ! !
