If I indicate that I do not wish to receive calls from telemarketers, then I should not receive them, period, regardless of the form in which they are delivered. I consider my desire to be left alone by commercial interests a personal right which, despite whatever legal language may exist today, is what the vast majority of Americans believe in and expect. Any legal provision that allows for the violation of this basic, fundamental tenant should not be accepted. Doing so will leave Americans without a basic means to protect themselves from unwanted intrusion into their personal lives.
