I think it is unbelievable that the FTC would even consider the use of the Do-Not-Call list for bulk marketing purposes. Whether in person or by any other means, marketing calls are unbelievably annoying. The three words "Do Not Call" mean exactly that. If someone is signed up on the list are they thinking "Gee, I don't want to be interrupted at dinner to speak to a salesperson, but I wouldn't mind being interrupted at dinner to speak to a machine." No. DO NOT CALL. Period. People who are not on the list might also appreciate e-calls. People ON the list are overwhelmingly wanting to be left alone.
