Since the Telemarketing Sales Rule went into effect, the number of unwanted and unsolicited calls to my home that disturb my privacy has approached zero. This is a wonderful example of government that works well. I have prior business relationships with many companies that I do not want initiating contact with me, especially via a pre-recorded message. These invariably interrupt my time with my family since they occur between 6pm and 8pm in my area. Any changes to rules and laws that reduce privacy to the citizenry must be well-considered beforehand, and found to be in the public good. I find it difficult to imagine how such a change will benefit the public at large. More likely, it will benefit a few at the cost of many. Thank you.
