|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:The whole reason I signed up for inclusion in the "do not call" list was because it might reduce the amount of unsolicted commercial phonecalls I receive. According to your website, the do not call registry was "created to offer consumers a choice regarding telemarketing calls"; if you are going to renege on that promise, you might as well rename it the "government-sponsored phone-spam" registry, so that consumers foolish enough to believe that they have the right to control their own communications will at least be given fair warning of your duplicitous nature.
