|Subject:||Trade Regulation Rule on Telemarketing Sales|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, Request for Comment|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 310|
Comments:When hearing of this proposed amendment, I had at least two things go through my mind: • What about “Do Not Call” does the FTC not understand? • The FTC is supposed to work for me, not the Direct Marketing Association. I won’t comment on some of the others as they don’t belong in a public forum. However, in reference to the above, “do not call” means do not call. It doesn’t mean allow automated calling systems. That is not what I signed up for. I understand how this is supposed to allow for contact to those with an “existing business relationship”. However, I really don’t want to find out how tenuous of a relationship some of the marketers may consider valid. As for the other bullet above, I think that is quite plain. Please work for us, those you are intended to help.
