I think the "Telemarketing Sales Rule to create an additional call abandonment safe harbor to allow telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message to consumers with whom the seller on whose behalf the calls are made has an established business relationship" is a bad Rule. The reason I signed up for the do not call list is because I do not want my telephone service to be used for advertising of any sort. No loopholes are needed. I never respond to any unsolicited telephone calls or email because it encourages more spam. Instead of a rule to permit more unwanted calls, how about an option to prevent unsolicited charity calls as well. I would also welcome an option to eliminate political calls. It is especially anoying to get a call urging me to vote. I always vote as it is one of my most important public actions in our democracy. Please do not break one of the best things the FTC has done to make my life better.
