I must say that I am outraged that it has been proposed that the do not call list be opened up to exactly the persons or groups which the list was designed to prevent calling. It is simply absurd to create a nation wide do not call list and then cripple any capacity it had, to allow for prerecorded messages. I for one do not see any distinction between a call from a tele-marketer that is live or one that is prerecorded. In either case it is an unsolicited call which any person that has joined the do not call list wished to avoid. In fact prerecorded messages I find particularly abhorrent as there is no way for the recipient of the call to quickly ask the tele-marketer to please remove their name from the list. Not to mention how completely void of any shred of humanity it is. I urge everyone to leave the do not call list as it was intended, and not to pervert it into some sort a tool for tele-marketers to further disrupt the lives of ordinary citizens.
