I am writing in opposition to the proposed amendment. Prerecorded messages from company's with preestablished business relationships should not be given exemption from the Do Not Call restrictions. This amendment works against the purpose of the bill and beginning to allow exceptions begins the process of killing the rule. Telemarketing companies will find ways to establish business relationships where none truly exist, and we will no longer be protected by what is truly one of the most convenient rules to come our way lately. Additionally, prerecorded messages are one of the most irritating kinds of junk phone calls to receive. They are the most impersonal forms of communication. I believe that Do Not Call means Do Not Call and this rule should be kept as simple as possible, We should resist the temptation to amend the rule. I, for one, am thankful for the rule and have noticed a sharp decrease in calls since it went into effect. Please do not pass the amendment,
