This phone spam (telemarketing) is getting pretty bad now a days. It is not quite on the magnitude of e-mail spam (for obvious reasons of manpower) but I can't believe phone spam is so tolerated. I would not be sad if telemarketing went away. Getting phone calls from political parties and NPO's is bad enough, especially since they rarely honor removal of my name/number from their lists. This is just a gross situation in America now. Please do not allow an increase in the amount of undesired noise penetrating my house walls via the phone lines. It is embarrassingly sad to see marketing of all sorts take over the TV, billboards, radio, products, movie theaters (when did commercials start here??). I am so sick of it all and it just keeps getting worse! Maybe legal methods is not the correct avenue to help reduce all this garbage, but laws certainly should not allow companies to increase the amount of trash! Please, the country is already filled with enough over powered yet power hungry companies that generate all of this marketing! If you allow this amendment how am I supposed to tell a recorded message to take me off of their call list? This is so absurd and recorded calls are bad enough with their signature 5 second delay before their annoying message starts.
