This sounds like an absolutely horrendous amendment for the consumer. It is my understanding that companies with which I already have an established relationship can contact me. I have no problem with that as I can ask them to remove me from their calling list if I choose to do so. How can an individual stop an automated message? Even if a phone number is given to remove me from future communications, I may be forced to listen to the entire message and, at a minimum would have to dial another number to actually speak to someone to be removed. Furthermore, if I already have an established relationship with the company, why would they need to get my number from the do not call list? My current phone number is unlisted and was added to the do not call list just for an added level of security. If this amendment is passed, my number is no longer private and I have lost the security of having my number unlisted. Please do not pass this amendment. My registration with the list was not with the acceptance of this newly proposed amendment.
