I am one of the millions of Americans that have signed up for the National Do Not Call List. When I initially signed up I doubted how effective the list would be in reducing unwanted calls, where I was receiving 10-20 calls per evening causing a real disruption in family life. I signed up and waited for the effective date to pass, suddenly all the calls basically stopped. I have heard about the loosening of restrictions on prerecorded messages and I am strongly opposed. Others and myself have signed up on the National Do Not Call List for a reason: we do not want to receive calls. I have read I would then have to opt-out for each company that calls me after the new rule is in place, but didn’t I do that when I added myself to the National Do Not Call List? This list has probably had the strongest noticeable effect on my life of any government action. Please do not weaken it, but rather make it stronger. Thank you for your consideration, David Mattox
