Comments:
I wish to register my objection to the proposed amendment that would allow telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message to consumers with whom the seller has an established business relationship. In many ways, prerecorded messages are even more of a nuisance than regular telemarketing calls. At least with a human operator I could quickly tell them that I was not interested and ask to have my number removed from their call list. The national Do Not Call Registry has been a very welcome and successful initiative that has brought welcome relief from the nuisance of intrusive telemarketing calls. Please do not weaken it with this amendment.
