I included my phone number to the do not call list for the purpose of eliminating ANY call from ANY business, regardless of existing relationships. I only wish the law could be expanded to prohibit political and charitable organizations from making unsolicited calls to my number. They are just as intrusive and unwanted as any telemarketer. Unsolicited calls made from prerecorded, automated devices, in my opinion should be OUTLAWED. In case you are unaware, calls made by these prerecorded , automated devices cannot be disconnected until the message is completed. The consumer is held CAPTIVE by these devices. I implore this commission to NOT ALLOW any changes to the existing regulations as requested by the telemarketing industry and to further restrict business, charitable, and political interest from making unsolicited intrusions into my home by way of a telephone service that I pay for! Since the inception of the Do Not Call list. I have enjoyed a tremendous reduction in unwanted calls to my phone, however there are some companies that believe they have found a loophole in the regulations and they call anyway. I treasure my privacy, especially in my own home!
