Dear Sirs: The do-not-call list has been a resounding success and has brought relief to millions of families from unwanted marketing phone calls. I personally am extremely pleased by the fact that our family dinner is no longer interrupted on what was nearly a daily basis by UNSOLICITED telemarketing calls. I believe the proposal before you would renew the barrage of UNWANTED phone calls, with the only difference being it is a recorded message and not a real person. In addition, the technology available makes it simple and easy for companies to blast hundreds of thousands (if not more) calls a day to people that have no interest in receiving these calls. PLEASE do not approve this amendment. It is so nice not being interrupted by dozens of calls a week for products I don't want; PLEASE do not make it possible for companies to do this again.
