I am opposed to the ammendment of the Telemarketing Sales Rule becasue it will provide an 'escape hatch' to telemarketers and result in more very unwanted telemarketing calls. It will in my opinion subvert the purpose of the original Telemarketing Sales Rule which was to allow people to have such calls eliminated from their lives if they wished. In my experience, telemarketing calls interrupt normal activity during business hours with unproductive time-wasting calls. They are very disruptive to home life as well. I have never in my life (57 years) had a telemarketing call result in a sale for their client from me - it has always been a total waste of time for all concerned. I do not wish to have my phone lines tied up by telemarketing phone calls. They result in denying me, my business and my family the ability to utilize a utility that I pay for. Let's not have our phones look like our mail boxes that always seem to be overflowing with junk (mail). Thank you.
