This ammendment sounds like a perfectly TERRIBLE idea, for a very simple reason: those of us on the Do Not Call List are on it because we explicitly wish not to be interrupted, while eating dinner or at any other time, to hear a pitch to buy low cost car insurance or to hear how we can save 5% on our long distance phone bill. It makes entirely no difference whether the call is made by a person or a computer; the disruption such calls make to the recipient is identical, and as such should be treated identically.
