Please do not change the Telemarking sales rules to create an additional call abandonment safe harbor to allow telemarketing calls that deliver a prerecorded message to consumers with whom the seller on whose behalf the calls are made has an established business relationship. It would seem that fairness would dictate that phone users must not be interrupted by what will become incessant calls made on behalf on some nebulous relationships that was defined in incredibly small print in some obscure place such as when an item was purchased on an account was opened or web site was visited. In my house, we will go back to having the answering machine answer all calls which thoroughly aggrivates and frustrates both those with whom we would like to talk and us. If you reason that reason does not prevail and incorporate the loophole, please repeal all of the Telemarting sales rules. I would at least like to know that occassionally there is a human on the other end of the line when I tell them that I will not ever contribute to their cause or buy their product and slam down the phone.
