Discouraging! That our elected officials obey the will of greedy marketers and find so many ways to subvert efforts at privacy and consumer protection - What a poor reflection on our Congress. This revision of a thoughtful and decent law erodes any belief that Congress is capable of acting in the interests of any but the crass and greedy Our mail system is bloated with junk mail and it now seems that public communication links (phone and internet) are doomed to the same fate Shame on our politicians for their arrogant exclusion of the public good in the interests of power and money
